There was a test of some sort a while back, and the result was that the BEST place for a menu (or sidebar) would be the right side, since most people (ok, forget China for a while...) start reading from the top left. Ofcourse if you're having banners and other info on the left side it's way better for those that own the banner(s) :D.

I like it the way it is, and now even more since that small banner on the right (proportable) is gone.

Yeah, we gave the sidebar a try on the right, and it sorta looked a bit weird. Though it gave the side a little bit of a cleaner look, because there's no clutter on the left.

We'll just keep it like it is for now.

Then let the user decide, make a set of options where the user can choose inbetween: visible or not, left or right :D.

Well, wow, I am kind of impressed. Looks nice! Firefox @ 1280*1024, just the perfect resolution. Great little detail that you skipped the two, for Frank's sake ;) j/k

Soooo I guess I have to work on that PDAMill interview now. If only I could find the codec my video camera uses... :(

I like the bar on the right better. Unlike IE, FireFox will begin showing the page even though tables are not fully built. If the bar is on the left then it will be rendered first and take up the entire screen while the actual forum data is being transferred. However if it is on the right the forum appears first, then the toolbar pops in later, which looks much nicer.

Of course people with broadband (aka not me) wouldn't notice either way.

The biggest problem with having it on the right is it is too easy to accidentally hit links on the toolbar while going for the scrollbar.

In other words, Firefox builds the page like crap...
I really don't see it why somebody (not using a Mac) wants to use something else then IE. I mean, if you forget about the speed thing (wich isnt bad at all with broadband and such), you only can go down compared to IE...

For one, IE doesn't have tabs. I use three browsers: IE, Crazy Browser and Firefox. Firefox is the fastest, CB has tabs and it's a bit more stable, and IE... Well, it's too difficult to remove :D

Firefox is awesome... and I like the new design, although it freaked me out when I first came just now. I thought PM was dead and some other site had take the domain, one of those link farm things because it sort of looks like one.
Careful, don't get crushed under the weight of my stupidity... the think hurts

After a day with FireFox I already couldnt stand IE, by now I could never go back. The tabs alone are a huge difference

I know it's already told but the left sidebar is too big (and specially anoying if you're using 800x600 like I do)

I preferred the old colors, however the current ones are nice too.

Change it back to the classic blue! This new design looks like the forums are hosted by some other site and looks cheap and cluttered. Go back to PM2!!

Um, that's a feature, and a big one at that. Try pulling up PocketGamer in IE on dialup. It takes close to a minute for enough images to load for IE to show anything at all. Firefox will start showing content, even though screenshots and images further on down aren't loaded, almost immediately. I would have switched to FireFox just for that feature alone.
