PMatrix on PPC

PMatrix on PPC

Postby CheezBoy » Jul 17, 2001 @ 11:54pm

Chris is there anyway you could do something to the banner on the web pages so it doesn't stretch out the page to fit the banner in PIE. I get sick of scrolling horizontilly every time i want to read the end or begging of the next sentence. I don't know if you can change the banner in anyway but if you could something about it that would be cool because some of us can't go Landscape in WindowsCE :( (well to my knowledge on E-125 but correct me if i am wrong. Thanks.

What do u mean u cant go landscape? I use to use Jimmy's Landscape on my e-125 before using Word or PIE.

I've got Nyditot Virtual Display and it works wonders, any resolution in any 90* angle.<br><br>But Cheez, In PIE tap view, then make sure there is a check next to "Fit to Screen."

While the ranting is going on, I'll add my suggestions. ;) I think this will change with PM2, so it's probably a moot point, but the white text on blue background looks particularly bad when viewed with a JS Landscape Sub-Pixel drawing mode. You guys might want to experiment to see what color combinations are most readable under sub-pixel rendering so PM2 can truly be one of the best Pocket PC-viewable sites.<br><br>Dan East

And here's another suggestion that's probably moot, but perhaps you could incorporate a few simple lines of conditional SSI to detect PIE and lay the forum (or, indeed, any page) out accordingly.<br><br>Here's the code I use, if it helps at all...<br><br><!--#if expr="${HTTP_USER_AGENT} = /Windows CE/" --><br><!--#include virtual="PIE-friendly.shtml" --><br><!--#else --><br><!--#include virtual="desktop-friendly.shtml" --><br><!--#endif --><br><br>Needless to say, I have no idea whether this is possible with the setup you're going to be using, but maybe it'll be of use to other webmasters, if nothing else...

Wow, I've got to remember that SSI stuff. That will come in handy.

Well, when I was reading posts/threads...i'd have to scroll right to read them completely. Which cuts off the name of the post-er too.<br>
