The BE-300

The BE-300

Postby RedruM7 » Jan 28, 2002 @ 2:09am

I (and many others) have one of these neat devices, I was hoping --- could maybe hopefully port it over, we casio BE-300 owners are in Desperate need of some good freeware.
It would be GREATFULLY appreciated.
Right now I tried and cant seem to get the mips version working on my BE, some people on the brighthand forums say its because of the landscape mode which the BE doesent support as yet.
just to tell you wolf3d requested the gx.dll, I found it and I got a blank screen after that.
If you dont plan on porting it, could you help us in trying to port it ourselves?...
thanks.

well after reading the exciting post, I will direct my post to whomever is capable of porting (I dont think I qualify unfortunatly).

BTW I'm on your side techmage obviously they dont own a pda like ours, and understand what its like, the BE-300 is probably the worst of the bunch because of its custom OS(modified WinCE3.0, dammit casio).

Just to clear things up the Wolf3d MIPS version released probably only needs some very minor adjustments to get it to work on the BE-300 because it uses a 166mhz MIPS processor, I believe its just some .dll files that are missing or different because of the modified WinCE.

Wow. That was the exact same thing that happened when Dan was trying to debug the original Mips build. It was misaligned, so I sent him a Casio to debug on.

I know that this isn't the most efficient way, but Dan, couldn't you look at those parts and declare the variables there as unaligned for a special BE300 build? It sounds like it is only when dealing with config files and maybe loading and saving the game, so ingame performance wouldn't be in conflict, and it would quickly fix the problem.
