That is correct. Only 16 and 32 bit surfaces are supported, as the error message states when you attempt to execute a gapidraw app in 256 color mode. I could be wrong, but I believe all gapidraw 1.04 surfaces are 16 bit internally. Is that correct Johan?

Yes.. All surfaces are 16-bit due to performance optimizations.
