We are planning to release a mapeditor in Jan.

We also plan to add multiplayer over bluetooth at some point.

Would that really be useful? Surely the drag-select and group control panel lets you manage the units into groups as it is?

Good god, CALM THE HELL DOWN ALREADY. Your messages are almost unreadable!

Simon: Can't wait to check this out. I assume most of the engine is tile based? (ie not like Argentum's maps)
and what about IR or WiFi multiplayer?

About the hardware button suggestion, it allows you to select units that aren't neccecarily in a box. Nothing to do with grouping really.

By the way, I'd love to test out the map editor. Am planning on making quite a few maps for this :P

Funny because when I first got this game, I thought it was horrendously bad, but a year or so later, I installed it from the minicd, and it was one of the better games.

I'll stop editing this post now.
holy internets batman.

Yes, the maps are tile based.

I doubt we will support IR multiplayer, dont you think holding the machines lined up would be a nightmare? I hated it when I had to check my email with a PDA and phone connected by IR, never mind playing a game!

But once the multiplayer code is done supporting new connection methods shouldnt be too hard, so we will see. The multiplayer might not be until mid-2003 btw. At the moment PPC multiplayer gaming is hardly popular by all accounts. For the actual connection and data transfer we might use a third party solution rather than develop it ourselves, in which case it probably would automatically support IR/BT/WiFi/Etc.

That would be cool, cause I think this is one of the better games out for the PPC that is not an emu.
Note to self: Why don't you ever listen to me?

We the unwilling led by the unqualified for so long with so little we now attempt the impossible with nothing

its in final testing, it will be next week, promise!

it has been written from scratch because the maped we used to create the levels ourselves is a bit fiddly, and was written in visual basic so needed a large install file what with all the dll's. the new one is far better believe me
