Windows 98? That sounds like XenMap has a memory hole in it. I haven't had any problems of the sort, so my comments are pure speculation.

Units

Postby JMarkevich » Feb 11, 2003 @ 9:02pm

I see all of the tiles for the landscape, but I don't see any units. Am I missing something? I noticed in the sample map there are 4 tanks available for me, but I can't see anything else that I can add in any new maps.

All right....More info on problems. I have come to the conclusion that there is a problem with the editor throwing tiles randomly around the map. My Pine tree's turn out as some bushy tree and the cliffs are just a random area that looks nothing like a cliff. There are some other problems with other tiles that do the same thing. Just wanted to let you know. Otherwise all is good. The tiles being randomly thrown in some cases makes the map unplayable though.

what size map are you creating?

i suppose there isnt any chance you are trying to load the grass maps that the editor creates as desert scenarios (by copying them over the standard installed maps instead of the forest fire maps)?

Yes, I put the files into the Forest Fire Expansion, and all is well! The Levels work great!!!! You still need to fix the problem with the units randomly dissapearing in the editor.

I'll hopefully release a version of the maped tomorrow which has all bugs fixed and some enhancements. Also a version of the game that loads the files without copying them over game files :)

You might want to wait until then to make more maps using Windows 98 which is worst affected by the bugs.
