Help a newbie ppc user please

Postby Cyg » Jan 4, 2003 @ 11:55pm

I have the registered version of dexplore 1.34, but I can't seem to get the plugins to work. I installed them to the default area, and they wont show up under settings.
Would someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have a dell axim x5 300, that has the xscale and it is running ppc 2002.

I really appreciate any feedback, I love dexplore on another pda I once owned and would love to get the plugins working the Dell as well.

Thanks again

yep,

I finally figured out it need to be in the same area where the exe is, without the folder throwing it off. When I installed it the regular way it would make a folder called Dan east's Dexplore key, or something like this.

I have it registered and I moved everything over to the Main area. I got this version from Dan it is 1.34. Here is some things I have noticed after doing all the reading I can do with the help files.
When I install it using the default icon, the installer wants to put all of the files onto this drive on the Pda. Built in Storage Card. It seems the installer keeps putting it in this drive or folder or whatever it is called.
Now when I manully tell it too install the Main area, it keeps creating a folder called Built in Storage Card. So could it be the installer or is it me? or is the reason it is a beta and newer version of DExplor. Can you help me moose?

My resco ran out on the Dell and I had to resort to Total commander for a free file explorer, but I like Dan's and I want to use the zip and search options.

I decided along time ago, after playing around the registry on the be, that I am not going to mess with xscale, too many unventured territories for me there.

thanks Dan,

This is exactly what I was needing to know.
The installer make a folder that puts it one directory further than what Dexplor look for.

Like this.
This is what I get when I install it to the main.
CF Card\Daniel East's DEXplor\plugins\Daniel East's DEX File Search Plugin\DEXFilesSearch.dxp

Ok when I move the file (DEXFilesSearch.dxp)to here
DEXplor\plugins\DEXFilesSearch.dxp and elimanate the folder that the installer created. (Daniels East's DEX File Search Plugin). It now works,

I can see it in the setting panel and it works. So it was the extra folder that the installer was creating was the thing that was keeping the exe from finding the dxp it needed.

This is the directory structure I needed thank you.
