Kornalius,

I agree. You have hit some really good price points.

The lite version is very capable. It should work for people with little pocket money and those just wanting to try it out. Q. Are you leaving in support for SQLite?

The $40 price point is good for standard. It is lower than the $50 we talked about 2 years ago and has all of the features from 2 years ago with the exception of the exe compile. This is good. If you are really a Professional and selling programs, then you will pony up the money for the Pro version. Others will not need it.

The $80 price point for the Pro tools is still pretty sweet. It includes the SDK and a second License. A great value at the price increment.

The purchase price of the SDK seems high to me. Is the SDK price equal to that of PPL Basic (I ask myself retorically)? On the other hand, to develope entertainment programs, it is one of the few games in town. (I worked hard to get that pun in there.) I don't want to write games, so I'm not a good judge.

Which brings be to one of my questions. Under SDK it says "No Game API functions". Where is the Game API? I see it excluded, but I don't see it included anywhere. Wouldn't it be in the Game API?

I feel like this discussion must have come over from another thread, because I'm also missing what the prices become after 2 months. What are the regular prices?

A year or so ago you and others worked on a promotional Word document for PPL and now would be a good time to pull that out and include this new information and list the new features.

The purchase of PPL would look much more appealing couched in a list of features rather than starting from the Pro version and listing what is not there.

Kornalius,

I missunderstood. I was thinking Game SDK. With the inclusion of the regular prices above it all makes a lot more sense to me now.

It sounds great. I'm looking forward to seeing the website and the first promo materials.

So let me make sure I understand correctly. Of the two prices you have in parentheses after the version name, ie, (39.95$ / 49.95$ regular), the first price is the introductory price, valid for 2-3 months, or will the second price be the introductory price? I think the first option is the correct one on a re-read...

Also, it appears that only PPL Pro gives the ability to create .exe files, correct?

Phillip

PS - on a side note, someone posted a comparison of development tools for the pocket PC on aximsite.com (see for the thread).

I'm wondering what you all think of the comparison, other than the mistake about free vs not-free?
