Clickgamer Extends Cutting EDGE Coding Competition 2006

Postby edge » Mar 7, 2006 @ 3:20pm

Clickgamer Ltd, industry leading D2C retailer, announces some major changes in the running "Cutting EDGE Coding Competition 2006" organised around the EDGE mobile game engine.

Due to popular demand the competition deadline is extended from June 7th to August 31st 2006. The competition is also split up into two categories: the current Best Cross Platform Game and a new category, the Best TiltCONTROL Enabled Game.

This addition is made possible because of the collaboration with Pocketmotion, creator of the TiltCONTROL hardware devices. The TiltCONTROL is a small device that attaches to a Windows Mobile device such as a Pocket PC or Smartphone and is able to detect the precise angle that the mobile device is being held at.

The prizes to award to the winners have also been changed. The Gizmondo unit is replaced by an iPod Video and Pocketmotion is offering a Sony PSP for the winner of the Best TiltCONTROL Enabled Game category.

The prize for the Best Cross Platform Game consists of:
- An iPod Video
- A two year commercial EDGE license
- $5,000 worth of free advertising at Clickgamer.com for their game

The prize for the Best TiltCONTROL Enabled Game consists of:
- A Sony PSP
- A one year commercial EDGE license

The winning submission will be selected in September 2006 by a team of independent judges. The best games, in terms of originality, multi-platform awareness and playability win the competition.

The Cutting EDGE Coding Competition 2006 can be entered by applying on the competition website located at http://www.edgelib.com/competition.
