Compile desktop without DirectX

I assume you're trying to compile for Windows Desktop because Embedded Visual C++ tries to upload the executable each time the build is done. If this is the case, you can disable the process by opening Embedded Visual C++ options (tools -> options) and selecting the "download" tab.
In the download options you can disable file uploading to your Pocket PC or emulator.
