Even if I rebuild the edge samples, I don't get the same error. Plus, I didn't redefine the ULONG or DWORD symbols. If I find the error, I'll post a message in case of someone will encounter the same problem

You can try to comment out all source code, except an empty EdgeMain function returning NULL. Try to see if the problem still happens. If it is, there might be something wrong with the project file, otherwise try to check which piece of source code generates the error.
