Hi Petre,

Besides PCs equipped with a 3d graphics card we are aware of the following hardware accelerated devices supported by Edge:

* The Dell Axim x50 and x51 Pocket PCs have the Intel 2700g 3d accelerator on board with 16MB video RAM.

* The Nokia N93 and N95 models support fully hardware accelerated PowerVR 3D graphics from Imagination Technologies.

* Sony Ericsson's UIQ 3-based phones M600, P990, W950 all support OpenGL ES and feature full PowerVR® hardware 3D graphics acceleration.

We're pretty sure more devices are coming up!

It's great to hear that the new version of edge will npw support OpenGL ES.
Btw I think all the further Nokia N-series devices will be hardware accelerated. So make sure there are many devices coming up form noki and Sony and some other companys.

Just wanted to ask, will there be an examples of OGL ES usage in the upcoming release of Edge 3.00? And another one question, will we be able to use the per-pixel DOT3 lighting in our games? If it is possible, than it would be great if there would be a samples.

Hi Scihunter,

When the SDK is released, it will contain at least a couple of samples demonstrating basic 3D through OpenGL ES (and OpenGL) in combination with the Edge wrapper functions.

Support for certain features (such as special lighting, bumpmapping and extensions) depend on the OpenGL implementation and device hardware. There is a big chance DOT-3 lighting is supported on the PowerVR equipped Dell Axim x50v device.
