EDGELIB SDK 3.60 released

Elements Interactive B.V. releases version 3.60 of multi-platform mobile game engine EDGELIB. This release adds accelerometer support for Nokia handsets and fixes a few issues.

EDGELIB 3.60 introduces accelerometer support for numerous Nokia handsets, including the 5500 and N95 models, through EDGELIB's existing Tilt API. Also added is improved support of 2D RGBA surfaces in OpenGL.

Other enhancements in EDGELIB 3.60 include bugfixes covering the functions WorldRotate and SetFlipRect, backlight control on Windows Mobile, the usage of fixed point in all 3D structures and the RPN calculator. A complete list of additions and bugfixes can be found in the release history at .

Previously announced and scheduled for EDGELIB 3.60, the addition of support for ACCESS Linux Platform™ is moved to the subsequent 3.70 release.

EDGELIB licensees are entitled to download and install the commercial version of the new EDGELIB SDK. An evaluation version can be downloaded for free as well.

EDGELIB supports the development of mobile applications and games for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Symbian Series 60, Series 80, Series 90, Symbian UIQ, GPH GP2X, Gizmondo and Windows desktop. Key features include true multi-platform development, high-performance 2D graphics, hardware accelerated 3D graphics through OpenGL ES, RGBA surfaces and both Bluetooth and TCP/IP networking.
