Elements Interactive Mobile B.V. releases version 3.97 of multi-platform mobile game engine EDGELIB which includes various improvements to Apple iPhone platform support.

Version 3.97 improves stability and support for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices covering the threading model, application status events, right issues on creating folders and Unicode support for message popup dialogs.

This new release also introduces native support of PVRTC texture compression through a loader plugin and adds font kerning support, handling the horizontal spacing between custom font character combinations. Other improvements include added clipper support to the display class, which enables clipper support in OpenGL and improved filtering, enabling the SetShading function to work with more ClassEDisplay functions for OpenGL and internal rendering.

A number of other, minor, issues have also been addressed in 3.97. A complete list of improvements and bugfixes can be found in the release history on our website.
