Among the new capabilities:
- Native Resolution Support - if you have a WVGA device running at 800x480, then PQ will render at that resolution if you wish. However, your device must have a fast CPU to push that many pixels or the FPS will be single digit (an HTC Touch Pro 2 cannot render at WVGA at more than 10 FPS).
- Pixel doubling - the engine renders internally at 1/2 the display resolution, then scales it up to fill the entire display. Thus an 800x480 WVGA device will render at 400x240, and scale it up to fill the entire display.
- Support for keyboards - proper support for full QWERTY keyboards.
There are other fixes, but those are the key things at this time.
Beta testers needed
I need beta testers to give this a workout before it is released. I'm looking for the widest diversity in hardware possible. All devices running Windows Mobile 4 and up are eligible. Windows CE 3 might also run, but I don't have any working hardware to test going back that far at this time.
I will post another message to this thread when I begin accept beta testers, with instructions on how to apply. Subscribe to this thread and you will get an email notification when I make the announcement.
Please do not post requests to beta test to this thread.
Dan
