Is latin still taught in a lot of schools in america? and is it compulsory?

I think two years of a foreign language are required to graduate highschool. Latin is taught in some schools, but most schools offer Spanish, French and occasionaly German. You choose which language (that your school offers) you'd like to take.

I think language requirements are according to the state. Last time I checked anyways. :wink:

Ok, here there's a requirement to do a MODERN foreign language, most schools no longer offer ancient languages.
