Heh. I banned all stored procedure use as one of my first edicts as 'the boss'. We were bitten hard by locking ourselves into one particular database vendor. Updating to the latest version trebled the runtime of our application and the old version was then unsupported. Genius. So now it's all portable.

MySQL is getting much better, but ISTR performance falls off when you start dealing with large datasets. I'll definitely give it a go once our product is up and kicking :)

Anyone read about MSH yet for Vista? Hopefully it won't blow dead goats (tm) like every other attempt Microsoft has made at a user-level scripting runtime.
