You guys should read this:

He is dead-right about American conservatives framing the world through strict-father morality. Lets punish those 3rd world immigrants for being 'bad children'. American is the world's father, afterall.

Keeping a person in jail takes roughly 30k/year. Putting illegal immigrants in jail is a stupid idea.

And we didn't go to Iraq to stop the violence. If that were the case, this war wouldn't be such a clusterfuck. We went there over American interests. Essentially, it's a modern imperialism -- and has all the typical problems associated with that sort of adversarial situation.

Iraq switching its oil trade from dollars to euros was almost certainly a bigger concern for the American leadership than anything happening to the Kurds.

Of course a nation goes to war over its own interests.

Yes.

And the American economy is doing just fine. I've created my own index on how to check if the American economy is okay. It's called the Jaybot Energy Drink Index (or JEDI).

Basically, if I walk into a convenience store and there are 40 different kinds of energy drinks available to buy, then America definitely has the economy for that luxury.
