IE 5.5 Problem

IE 5.5 Problem

Postby Dan East » Jun 6, 2001 @ 3:11pm

Before I start researching this, I thought I would see if anyone else has come across this. I'm using IE 5.5 with Windows 2000. It worked fine for some time (months), then stopped caching files. So the symptoms are that when I go back to a page I've just viewed all the elements have to be redownloaded, I can't "View Source" (because there's no cached page to point notepad to), and I can't download files. I've tried fixing the Temporary Internet files with Tweak UI, and I've tried moving the Temporary Internet folder to another drive. Any ideas?

Dan East

Yea, go back to IE5. Isn't 5.5 still a beta of some sort?

no, IE6 is beta. IE5.5 already has a Service Pack out (I think). Try going to windowsupdate.com and updating anything to do with IE, except IE6 beta, of course.
