It's more mobile than a desktop.

Right, and why is that good? Desktops are designed to be stationary, you just put them on your desk and that's it. Laptops, however, are made for carrying around. A 17" laptop is neither... I mean, it's great to have a big screen like that on your laptop, but dang, I'd love to see somebody carrying that thing around college all day :).

You can still move it and it's one piece, but it's as powerful as a desktop. That versatility is important to some. It's a desktop computer in the sense that it will always be on a desk, but it's a notebook in that you can carry it around and relocate it in one piece with no hassle.

For those that are going to be computing while on the move and not just needing to move their computer between two locations, a smaller computer is far more practical, but not generally as powerful.

I liked Apple before they sold out.

Now they're mainstream and suck.

I admired Apple before they sold out. Now they're just a tool of emo and indie society. Not one but art freaks, indie kids, and math nerds own Apples.

As a symbol of uncommonly good taste, it's just too common now.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.
