I like the Saturn Sky.

Which probably makes me gay.

Yes, well. It happens to the best of us. Like me, I like the Volvo C70. We've all got our inward feme waiting for release.

But still, if I were to choose a car today and price and cost of usage and to be realistic but didn't seriously matter, I would definitely consider the Pontiac GTO at the top. Others would include the Subaru WRX STI Limited.

In that case, who will win?

No one, and that's an unfortunate truth. Drive a hybrid.

American Muscle cars are fine, I somewhat respect them, I just hate the people that drive them and talk shit about imports. Although they would never tempt me over to the dark side anytime soon. All things concidered, Japanese engineering as far as I'm concerned have the best overall designs.

The sky does look nice theres no denying that, the front grill could use a slight facelift imo though. As for hybrids a Lexus GS 450h would be my choice, a luxury vehicle that does 0-60 in 5 seconds with a 4 cylinder's fuel economy, must be nice. Speaking of Lexus, they are comming out with a new 500+hp F1 based supercar that would obviously smoke these pony cars, could be interesting if not reasonably expensive.

My car also has a long hood, but its no pony car thankfully. I dont know how you (james) can go from a import to wanting a pony car so bad, I would definatley go with the STI easily (though the Evo is superior  ) a stock lightweight, turbocharged, AWD, car with 4 doors is hard to beat. Throw in a boost controller and whatever miscellaneous mods you want and you should be making some decent speed easily beating any of those pony cars on a track and off the line.

Those new pony cars do have some appealing qualities to them, but as an overall package I dont see them as highly, of course many people interested in them arent looking at the overall package.

The only car on this list I would want is the GTO, and I wouldnt' be willing to spend more the $27k on it.

That's the new Toyota Supra in that picture. 500hp na supercar. Toyota needs it, they've got nothing going for them right now.

I much prefer imports, because they offer what I want. Fuel efficiency, the latest technology, and cool features. I don't want a rocket car, either. I prefer something more sedate and refined, although still able to give me some pick-up when I need it. I also need to haul some things. So a wagon like the Subaru Outback is preferable. I don't need the speed, as the regular RS engine should be peppy enough already, and the fuel economy is important to me. If I can't finagle out at least 30mpg, I'm not satisfied. I get 35 combined with my RSX, average, these days. I'm not too willing to get much less than that. But then again, I have to pay for it, so it's a factor for me.
