I was mostly just saying it for shock value.

But the root of the word is "without law", the greek nomos refering to universally applicable law, thus being objective; as opposed to axioms (arche something or other in greek) or "principles of living" which are subjective. I think that's all in the wiki article, actually.

You could call me a legalist if it would make you feel better.

A mythical framework is any framework which one uses to interpret and make sense of the world in terms of metaphors, and whose subject matter covers things that are not known, but can only be understood by proxy of such metaphors. I just typed that off the top of my head, so doubtless I will be revising it in the course of this discussion.

Good literature deals in myth. Certain political beliefs are mythological. Science can approach myth in its greatest epiphanies. And there are mythic elements in any ceremony or ritual, including birth, marriage, coming-of-age rituals like first communion and bar/bat-mitzvahs, courtroom processions, funerals, etc. I'll have to think of some better examples, but that gives some idea of what I'm talking about.
