SirDave's PocketScumm Manual Rev.3

Are the Flight of Amazon Queen supported by PocketScumm?

Postby Gedoc » Feb 12, 2004 @ 11:48am

I've tried it, but no luck, it is not reconized!
And looking for explication here and on the PocketScumm official site let me think that it's not reconized or forgotten in PocketScum :?

Can it be played on PocketPC anyway?
( It works fine on Desktop version! )

Thanks a lot,
Gedoc!

Thanks, didn't put in a decimal point and haven't noticed it for a year. Good eye!

COMI on SPV

Postby kamilsey » Feb 18, 2004 @ 2:34pm

Hi All

Im using pocketscumm on my SPV E200, I have copied all the files that are mentioned for running Curse of Monkey Island. It seems to start but just shoots through. Has anyone had anything like this before.

Any ideas

640x480 games will never work on a 176x220 screen (I'm saving your eyes :D)

Sou to Mp3 convert

Postby Guys Thickwood » Feb 26, 2004 @ 5:48pm

hi there,

the download link to get the .sou to .mp3 converter software appears to be broken:-

http://arisme.free.fr/PocketScumm/download.html

is there any where else we can get the required software?

or has it been removed because the software is no longer required?

Congrats on Pocket Scumm, my mate's and I have been reliving great past memories with that program

Regards,

Does anyone know where I can get a list of which SCUMM games are abandonware and which must be bought?

I always thought that Monkey Islands 1&2 were abandonware, but they aren't (apparently they were at one stage and Lucas changed their minds because of the popularity).

I am vehemintly against piracy and a list of which games can be download freely and legally would be great.

The only abandonware/freeware game I know of is BASS...

I think no Scumm games are abandonware ...

Beneath a Steel Sky is freeware. Flight Of The Amazon Queen will probably be freeware soon (if the developers can be contacted, see Ender brilliant news post on http://www.scummvm.org ). No idea about Broken Sword 1 and 2, Revolution donated the source code to ScummVM but the games are still sold (but they're easy to find and very cheap as the Sold Out collection is popular in several countries). Simon games are not abandonware either as far as I know.

Mapping Keys

Postby GhostDog » Mar 16, 2004 @ 7:31pm

Okay, I guess I'm dumb, but I cannot assign any keys whatsoever.
I have an IPAQ 3660, running WinCE and just installed ScummVM 0.60.
The device has 4 keys and the 4 directional keys that make up the pad. The 4 function keys for calendar etc. cannot be assigned at all, I can however assign the keys of the pad (Scumm calls them Key011 to Key013) but they do nothing ingame.
Anybody has the same problem? Am I missing something?

Yes, I have other GAPI-requiring software running just fine. I was so happy to find out I could play all those great games on my PocketPC, and now this :(
Oh well, I'm not giving up yet...

Would be interesting to know if other people have this problem - just to be sure, can you post what is display in the second about box (when you are on the selection screen and press "About") ?

well, I had almost the same problem with the new development build I was testing yesterday - guess that I have a subtle bug with the way keycodes are reported in my SDL port. I'll look into it.

It works now. Sadly I can give you now information about what went wrong. I got on a mad deleting, reeinstalling, updating spree (the one shortly before you give up) - and somewhere something happened that fixed the problem.
