WinXP Pro 64bit Edition

WinXP Pro 64bit Edition

Postby Caesar » Jan 8, 2005 @ 10:01pm

I'm downloading the preview (or pre-release) version of WinXP pro 64 from Microsoft now. I have a few questions though: 1) When I install it, I'll still be able to use all my old 32bit apps right? I know all the athlon 64s have a driver installed to work with old spps 2) Am I going to have to reformat, because that's not worth it for me?
Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Since it's a preview version, is it going to be a full OS or is it going to be stripped? I really don't want to install this if I'm going to wish I hadn't.

It's the full OS, but you have a 365-day limit on using it.

But I believe it still needs a fair amount of work... hence, the "beta". ;)

I'm using WinXP Home SP2 now - what am I going to be missing with WinXP 64?

Nothing, if anything, you'll gain features because you'll be switching to Professional. Just be ready to lose all your data after a year goes by. (I'd backup everything before then, if you switch)

Isn't there something really wrong with a cracked beta OS?

I'm sure you'll be morally crestfallen running a cracked one.

It's not that I'm morally apposed to running an OS I own legitimately, it's just using the cracked version. I'm worried of the OS becoming unstable, calling tech support, and then eventually having to explain why I'm using a cracked OS.
