Pocket Quake useless on Sprint 6700

Can't turn left or right only strafe. Also have no idea how to use the keyboard or map out an esc button. Frame rate is in upper 30's at all times but game is unplayable as is.
-need to turn not strafe
-need to use keyboard
-need to map out "esc" and "~" button

I now have a user name here. Mostly I just need to be able to turn not strafe and to bind a key as an esc key. The rest I can just play around with bind commands perhaps. Any help will be appriciated.

Can you get into the console?

bind (key) +left

WILL do the trick. Whether the OS is being whiny is another issue entirely, however.
