Talking with a PALM...Help...

Talking with a PALM...Help...

Postby Matthew » Dec 11, 2002 @ 6:15am

Me and my friend fooled around at work today, me with my Toshiba E740 and he with his Sony Clie.

He sent me a contact, I sent him one.
But, I cannot receive a picture, it just sorta sits there.

Same with MP3, I cannot send.

Now, later on I couldnt do contacts or anything.

I tried synching with another guy's palm and sending or receiving a contact, but mine would see his, and his would say searching, searching, but once he pointed it at my infared, it stopped searching and said it couldnt find another device.

And I couldnt do it with my friends either.

Is there any application made for my PPC and for Palm to talk easier?

Any hints or tips would help.

Thanks
Matthew

The reason why you can't read his pictures and him your mp3s is that PalmOS files are stored as PDB and PRC files (Palm database and Palm resource, IIRC). Unless this has changed since PalmOS 3 (back when I had my Handspring Visor), that would explain it. But if you really need to transfer files, use Peacemaker.

Yeah, it showed as some .pdb or something. LOL

Thanks a lot mate. I'll check out that program.

Im just curious to why contacts worked at first, then stopped later.
