No, no, no. Never take the batteries out of a Jornada 54x or 52x series Pocket PC. They cannot be taken out without special equipment. That means, once they go permantly dead you have to send the unit back to HP. To soft reset, push the small red button on the back of the unit and to hard reset, hold down the power button and the red reset button for about 4-6 seconds, then turn the unit back on and the LED light on the top of the unit will flash green 5 times and the Jornada will reboot. To Dan and other users, I suggest you read your manual if you are new to pocket PC's. You will learn alot and not make mistakes that could be damaging to your Pocket PC.
