Problem Sending Movies to the 'Ol Paq

Problem Sending Movies to the 'Ol Paq

Postby Village_Ideot » Sep 27, 2001 @ 12:41am

Yeah, i encoded a jackass video for my ppc. It is 38 mb, and i have 64 mb of ram on my h3670. So anyway:

How am I supposed to alot more memory to storage? When I grab the memory slider, it automatically goes back to the center. When it stays where i want it to, i have about 50 mb dedicated to storage. I copy the video over, and it will transfer about 34mb of it, then say there isn't enough space, and it deletes itself from my ipaq. I don't have anything else installed or taking up space either.

And now that I got my paq back from compaq (whoah read that sentence aloud) the cradle sometimes fails to recognize that it is there which REALLY sucks.

oh, i thought you said you were using a card... cant you just keep dragging the slider over as its copying the file? or zip it up, get one of those zip programs for pocket pc.

I dunno. maybe WinCE is allocating/adjusting memory dynamically regardless of your changes.

Ive had this problem before, WinCE likes to keep so much room for itself. I know it told you that you had 50mb storage. But whatch what happens when you close it and re-open it. It will be back to the middle. You best bet is to keep moving the slider closer to the middle until it stops adjusting your space by itself.

so there isn't any kind of fix or anything? Why would they have the allocate memory feature if after you do it, it just sends the slider back to the middle...

Because Microsoft wants you to think you have control when really they do.
Ya know Bill Gates lost a net worth of 7.X billion dollars this week due to the market losses.

I have a 3670 and I can keep the slider wherever I want (within the blue part, of course) and it stays there.

Mine is ROM 1.77. If I'm not mistaken, you bought your iPAQ the same time i bought mine (july), so you should have the same ROM I have (I didn't need to upgrade).
