Downgrade Ipaq 3630 PPC2002 to PPC2000 possible?

Hello!

Is it possible to downgrade an Ipaq, that has been updated to PPC2002, back to PPC 2000?

What happens if my computer crashes during the flash-process? Can I simply "over-flash"?

I think it has been done, downgrading that is, but I would tell you no that it would not be an option just to play it safe. Don't worry, PPC2k2 is better in many many ways.

If your computer crashes while flashing, well then forgive me but you're screwed. I highly doubt that you'll be able to reflash because your computer won't recognize the device anymore... of course once I misflashed my computer's BIOS and I managed to reflash it somehow .

You can downgrade if you backed up your ROM while upgrading to PPC2K2.

eh I'm doing this right now I'm using the Linux bootloader and this guide http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/Restori ... Q%20Update ... I'll tell you in a few minutes if it worked

There's no need for all of that, the tool that comes with the iPaq upgrader lets you backup your ROM and restore it. I've done it many times.

If you haven't backed up your ROM, well then your out of luck.

well, if you forgot to backup your ROM just like me , the Linux method works like a charm ... back to an OS where dual boot works properly
