Half-Life Port by Inferno Gaming Studios

Postby Courtlandre » Oct 27, 2003 @ 7:53pm

It is possible to make a port of Half life. When half life came out I played it on my Pentium 150 with NO 3D card. So with software rendering only and a 150 MHz processor, it ran decent. Most ports are crappy and slow because they arent written for the PPC. IF a brand new engine is written for HL, then I think it is very possible. However, I think the cost of the project would be much larger than the profits. Thus another reason we dont have cool, original games, there isn't a market. Here on PM, I think most of us are younger, and there aren't many of us. So, It can be done, but won't be because of the large amount of cost involved.

999 if he was making his own engine why would he need the engine from HL to mess with. Also why would it have been "underground." What you have seen on the GBA is Quake skins used on low version models (when I saw it I thought they reduced poly, maybe not though) on their own custom engine. Also IIRC they weren't actually playing a game but just going around ona demo thing. Therefor they didn't have to run an AI or anything.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Miracle - I never had the intent of permanently convincing everyone. I was only planning to have some fun with it for a very short while (i.e. I told the very first person that responded that it was fake), but I wanted to indulge my ego by making a cool special effects video.

LMAO!

I'm sorry, but 9 fucking pages of posts? Wow. I only had to read the first post to know this is pure bullshit. Come on Mr. Whoever you are that posted this, you suck at posting fakes and I'm ashamed you guys gave him the gratification of 9 pages of replies. Especially that line, where you posted a bogus link and said "we will have our webpage up shortly." Lol. Tsk, Tsk, what a shame. You should have at least made a fake webpage. Come on guys and gals, we have seen how many fake PPC ports by now? Never believe anything until you see some kind of proof. *sigh*

Nevertheless, thanks for the laugh.
