Just thought i'd join in on this too. Since i consider greywolf to be a friend and he has been a great help to the be300 community.

Greywolf, is a kind person, he has helped us with the be300 since the very beginning of the forums, and though he isn't a tech, he has proven himself to be a great help in finding programs that we've ported, and comming up with ideas that have come to light and are comming to light soon. He also has the ability to look at the whole situation from another angle, and inspire those in the community who are intimidated, due to a lacking of knowledge, or a feeling of not being useful, to learn and help make things possible.

He only comes to your forums to learn about the latest advances, and he goes to alot of forums, and comes back to us saying, "hey! they did this, how about we try to do the same thing or better?" and that gets things done. I wish there were more people out there like him, pushing for things and inspiring those who can do what others cannot.

As far as be300 users, there are alot of them. He said to check sales figures, but those are hardly a decent example. I would suggest going to the metaboo forums and seeing how many people are listed under members, and see how many people come on there daily to ask questions, or are sporting some new program they got working, or just anything they are proud of.

We don't talk down to people who are less intelligent than us, and those who don't know all the lingo, or those who barely were able to turn on their be300.

Instead, we treat people with respect and welcome them, and reply to their questions and problems quickly and with highest degree of care. I've never seen such a demonstration of support and caring anywhere else online.

I think all greywolf wanted to do was to get all of you talking about the be300 in a positive light, and though i don't think the hostility that this caused is entirely called for, i believe that now people are looking at the be300 a little differently.

Greywolf and others have been at this alot longer than i have, and have been told too many times that their device is a toy and not worth talking about in a legitimate ppc forum.

So they worked hard, and spent more time than any employer could possibly afford, developing kcmenu, and configuring the epod versions to allow this "toy" to be given the respect it deserved.

Now, i think all they want is for people to say, "hey, good job", or something other than, "big deal, today screens suck", "or i can already do that"..they just want the same respect you would give anyone else who got a today screen that looked that nice running on a ipaq or something else.

None of the efforts are being claimed as greywolf's accomplishments, or someone elses, instead we work as a community, and that is why you got anon posts from people who were upset, because when you attack greywolf..you insult all of us.

I'm not saying that you have to like greywolf, or even like me, just look at the screenshots (which were gathered from the forums as they were submited by users to aid greywolf in showing the different things that run on the be300) and stop in at our forums sometime, and maybe even help out.

I know the be300 will not be around forever, but right now it fills that nice gap in the market for people who want a device that can do alot of the things a high end ppc can do, at a very small price.

note: i've never heard of anyone having a problem with dust under a be300 screen.

It wasn't the content of his message, it was the way he said it, making it look like ARM/PocketPCs are going down. That and he posted a lot of messages that should've been combined into one.. and the fact he uses the same lines a few times on a few different forums like a mass spammer..

I see what you mean. Maybe if the messege had been trimmed down more, it would of had a better impact, and i for one don't want to fight or argue with anyone about which is better. The only thing that makes the be300 a great deal is the price, which i personally think is a good thing.

I just would appreciate it if any developers would be willing to assist our community improve this product that has already gone far beyond all expectations, even our own. I know it isn't without limits though, and someday soon here we will reach those, but it seems that we still have alot available to us as of yet.

As for the screenshots that greywolf has been posting here. Alot of you believe they are fakes and doctored images, well believe what you want, because short of showing you the be300 screen, it would be hard to prove. But i found one of the posts on metaboo where greywolf was asking for screenshots, and be300 users were posting them. There's a bunch more that greywolf didn't use, you may find them interesting.

It's not that we don't believe him. I know that those things exist for the BE300. I just ... don't care whether they do or not. They're just programs that make the BE300 ALMOST do the things a PocketPC can. I have a PocketPC and paid about the same price for it as the BE300. It's great that people are getting it to run different apps and all ... but it's not a PocketPC and never was intended to be. It's not a lower end PocketPC, it's a higher end Pocket Organizer. I'm happy for those that, for whatever reason, bought a BE300 instead, but we don't care because we have PocketPC's that CAN do all that stuff already. Why would we be excited?

It's like me going to the Dell Laptop forums and say "look, look! I can play the original Quake!" as they sit on their couch playing Quake III Arena over a wireless network.
