They can extract the hydrogen out of the petrol that we put in our cars right now. They can extract it out of a lot of things, but that costs a great deal of energy, equipment, and storage.

And the rammifications of leaked hydrogen into the upper atmosphere will critically alter the earth's atmosphere more significantly than fossil fuels have over the last century.

And just look at the power output. Fuel Cells are WEAK! The best hydrogen car available today or tomorrow is 90 hp and gets a maximum of 52 miles to the gallon. The car I own, which is a performance oriented sports coupe, has 200 hp and gets 38 miles to the gallon. Do the math. Fossil fuels are more efficient now, and with the same research that they're putting into fuel cells, fossile fuels could offer a vehcile with 300 hp and 50 mpg easily.

The ONLY good thing about fuel cells is that they don't directly rely on fossil fuels. Every other benefit is countered with cons.

[edit] Trae, because I express an educated opinion as opposed to spouting media fan boy jargon?

There's no question warez is wrong. You only do it because you get away with it, and because you rationalize to yourself that it is OK.

If I were a welder, and someone stole my expensive welding equipment, or broke into my shop and forced me to weld for them at gunpoint, that would be a crime.

But since I'm a programmer, it's OK to steal my work? My livelihood? I don't think so.

I became a software developer because that's what I enjoy. I could have become many other things. Lawyer. Electrician. Welder. Open a restaurant or a sewing shop. Any of those would probably be more profitable. When was the last time you got free legal advice or electrical wiring? A free meal or pants hemming? Is that what you expect, that everything is free? Let me ask: do you work for free yourself?

Those are the questions you should be asking yourself. (I mean "you" to be anyone reading this.)

There's a difference between stealing your welding tools, and stealing your software. When you steal your welding tools, they're gone, you don't have them. When you copy a game, the original person still has that. Why can't anyone make this distinction? It's quite a large one in law terms.

(note I'm not commenting about anything else, but the fact that theft and copyright infringment were being grouped together as one)

I still try to support software writers, and artists, as much as I can, especially the former, considering how there is a much larger impact there.
