Looking for a new PPC to replace my IPAQ

Go with James on this one. The best overall device is the 4155. Unless gaming is your only thing then the Asus is just fine for that. But the 4155 will give you wireless, second best speed in the bunch, smaller form factor over the Asus, removable batteries that Asus can't compete against (I hate any PDA where you cannot replace the battery yourself).

From what I have read in other forums the 4155 has a very nice d-pad and the buttons feel good versus the crappy 2215 arrangement. For a square looking d-pad I was surprised to hear that.

Of course you are going to hear "Asus this", "Asus that" in this forum where gaming rules. But it doesn't mean it is the best device for all of your needs. Shop around and see what other forums are saying about the current crop of PDAs.

Here my opinion - wait and see. IMO its very likely we will see plenty of emulator action for the Zodiac since there seems to be a ton of developer interest.

Once its available, we will quickly be able to see how fast it is. IMO, if its fast enough for the games you want to run, its the best device. Otherwise, its not.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Well, it seems many developers currently into the GP32 are migrating to the Zodiac, so I would expect most of that software will get ported fairly rapidly.

I think its worth waiting a couple of months to see how quickly progress is made.

Wow, so many replys. My handheld usage will be 50% games, 50% business. For games, I'll mainly play MAME & SNES, maybe GBA too if it can run well. I haven't heard any developers working on these emus on Zodiac. It may take quite a while to have decent emus on it; while the PPCs already have great emus running.

Ottoman, can you give me the links to forums where people have comments on the 4150 d-pad? I'll be very interested in finding these out. If you don't want to post the links here, do you mind to email them to me at phantoms@hotpop.com. Thanks a lot!

I think I'll wait for several days more before I finally decide. Hopefully, the Zodiac will be out by then and I can hear some more comments on it from real users.

The whole pro-Zodiac and anti-Zodaic stuff is getting dull !

I'll buy the best machine for gaming whether thats PPC or Palm, i dont care, i just want the one which is the best.

Zodaic is a good idea, i think companies are realising so many people use Handhelds for games. I think the first version of the Zodaic wont be great but i'm sure the 2nd version could be superb. I'm sure we'll see some PPC's used for business but then maybe a seperate type of one for gaming as its proved to be so popular
