heres my 2 cents, I dont like the save anywhere, what would be my ideal solution is to incoperate in game save points similar to resident evil or metroid, basically its like nonlinear levels separated by save points, I've always disliked save anywhere mainly because it makes games too easy if your save happy and doesent flow well with the game, I find games that incorporate saving into the game design always look and play better if done right, I also always thought earning your save points can add a nice dimention to games, lets say getting to certain points, killing certain creatures, or collecting certain items and so on... In games like zelda which I loved, I wished they could add another dimention like this to saving. But the idea of changing the save system proportional to difficulty is a very good idea, or maybe just selecting save system along with difficulty as you start the game would be interesting since you can have variety of configurations, well you have many options egaray... Good luck with the game, keep rolling out them quality pinoy powered games 8)

After reading through the post I have changed my answer. Have save points. If you don't have time to play an rpg then don't open one  . I like the way that sound "earn you save points" because if there are some secret hazardous things in the game then you can reload the game and it defeats the purpose, also it will prolong the game. But the it could also ad a frustration factor to the game making it not as fun but tedious continually starting from a save point and finally making it up to the point you died and dying again. Maybe if in between save points there are respawn points so you can go back to those when you die, well it depends on how you have the game set up, if you die game over, or like diablo, you die pay a death toll then continue. Or to take away people's fear of the battery dying while playing, possibly have an emergency save if its not hard to do. When the main battery low warning comes up then it could save the game automatically , then when you open the game the next time it will ask you if you want to open the emergency save file, if you say yes it takes you where you left off and if not it reverts to last save. Then once you open it it deletes it self.

Edit: if you do implement that last suggestion on the save feature make sure it doesn't go for low backup battery warning.

Can't wait to see the game.

I don't know if it's ever been done, but if you have money in your game, you could make people buy a save just like they buy a sword or anything else. Like a save potion or save scroll. You could also find them scattered around the level. You can use them anywhere, but once you use them, they are used up.

In general, the problem of saving is a difficult one. It can ruin the style of play, but then the customer bought the game, so he should be able to play as he wishes. There's always the problem with PDAs of having to leave an app suddenly. I like the idea of autosaving if it is turned off, but deleting that when reentering the program.

Some love cheats and some hate them. In the end, if they are only cheating at solitaire then that's fine. If you have online play or online scores, that's different.
