Maybe if it had some kind of screen protector.

The screen is indented, so unless your humping the phone with your face, that wont' be much of an issue.

I think most people will opt to use the headset anyway.

Even with the indent, the human head has a curve to it. I am a factory worker, and get lots of lovely crap and gunk on me at times, I think the small investment of a screen protector would be worth it for saving the phone. I can just see my luck as a small metal chip on my face scratchs the hell out of the touch screen with no protection.
