Just Wondering

Postby Courtney White » Aug 9, 2002 @ 11:08pm

I live in the mountains in northern Utah.. and we also have mountain lions. the way my family is, is that if something was killing things, we would trap it, shot it, poison is anyway, without a liceance.... and if some Enviromental person came to complain, we would shoot them in the leg (we have it posted, private property)

All i can say is, GOD BLESS AMERICA

Oh.. that reminds me. My grandparents and a few other people started a cooperation to buy a few 1000 Acres of land inside a canyon, inside a national forest (quite a few years ago) and i LOVE it.. stupid campers keep jumping our fence to fish in the creek (which WE Stock) and we get to escort them out at Gunpoint  (yes, they have a right to fish in the stream.. but they are on our shore and they walk on our property)

Being I work at a nature center and spend my life trying to save animals, I won't reply saying what I want cause I would be banned instantly.

I don't think you'll be banned for one comment. Hell, look it Ingalls, it took 800 annoying things for him to be banned. And TechMarge is still going strong :P

Now that I'm calmer, I'll be able to repy nicely. As nice as possible anyway.

Trapping should be outlawed. I dont care what kind of stories you come up with about dogs or people getting killed and trapping "helping" that. Your in THEIR land, THEY were there first and have a right to be there, if you dont like that TO BAD. And wheter its private property or not you dont have the right to break the law and from what you said, if I were there youd have shot me by now. You cant take the law into your own hands. Just like the person who shot one of the released wolves in Yellowstone, spent 6 months in jail and a rather large fine. People get obsessed with their own interests and dont realize whats better.

And trapping is probably the cruelest way of killing anything, animals have chewed their own legs off and died slow and horrible deaths trying to escape traps. And i've had my own personal experience. A red fox was caught in an illegal trap, had it's tail cut off my a bunch of assholes who thought it would be funny. I have no idea how the hell anyone can do that let alone think it is funny. And the fox had to spend the almost rest of its life in captivity. At least there was a happy ending though. A vixen was coming to his cage, he dug out, she caught enough food an he actually survied.

Sorry if you find this offensive but I find what some people posted very very offensive. And this is WAY toned down from what I would have wrote earlier.

What we did the the Indians was totally wrong as well. The animals were here even before them though. But at least the Indians respected the animals for that, unlike us. There's a song called Wolf that explains exactly what I'm talking about.

Lol, Its our land now. We fought and tricked the Indians out of it, and that's it.

If I went to Europe and captured all the land, whether I gave 'em a shiny glass bead, or killed 'em dead, that's too damn bad, its mine now. True they could fight to get it back, but until they succeeded, it would be all mine.

Same with the damn animals. We own it now, either get out, or deal with it. if I don't want predators on MY property, then I'll trap, shoot, poison, taunt, spit on, or fart on all the damn animals I feel I have too.

I'm sick of all these people in big cities who think they are "In touch" with nature and work at a "Nature Center," that's why we have them. So you city slickers can have a look at nature. I live IN Nature. My family owns 5 acres of Utah Mountain land, and over 600 Acres of canyon land in a national forest. I know what nature is. (plus, why the hell do you think I'm on a damn Dial UP?)

hehe I practically live in the mountains courtney and I dont feel the need to shoot trap or fart on the animals that live here. My brother ran into a male mountain lion a few weeks ago. I guess it was pretty damn big because the wild life people had to come remove it because it was too close to people. They didnt put a bullet between its eyes though ;).
