Fireworks seems pointless when you know the least bit of HTML. Hell, even then, Adobe Premiere's grid layout functions will work better than some Macromedia bloatware (which if the past holds true.)

What does Fireworks offer thats so unique exactly? Being into web design, I'm interested.

You miss the point... just use it to make the interface... the coding I do myself (by the way Adobe's equivalent is their Go Live suite... which is not worth the $$)... Fireworks makes graphics simpler to update change etc... and if you are shy on DHTML/Javacript them it helps their too... which seems to be the case.

I myself am a purist and try and stay away from graphics as it slows the site down and makes updates harder.

Just think about CWhite and then you know he will need all the help he can get. ~
