See, THIS is what I am talking about.

From whence does this paranoia come? Really? Is there PROOF? Is there any credible information that Microsoft is doing this? No. Yes, .NET can be used to do this...but so can a frickin' CGI script.

hmmmph. I fail to see a cartoon written by some boob who is probably using a 'Lisa' as proof of the attrocities of Microsoft.

You know, Blizzard used to track ALL of your information whenever you logged onto BattleNet, but they got sued for that so they stopped (as far as we know). But Microsoft does have your name, address, and your home/company network information. But who's to say if they track USEFUL things like your favorite websites (although advertising companies do that with their sly little cookies). But that's how they know to send you the latest and greatest MSN Service CD.

Moose as the voice of reason...?
:)

Seriously though, you are right. Look at Amazon.com?

The rules will change, and Opt-Out will probably, eventually, be replaced by Opt-In. But until then, .Net or not, it's a fact of life. It's funny though...

...People are more nervous about their rights and privacy being stolen because of cookies than they are of the same by gun control and registration. How Orwelian.
