I think what moose is saying is that, like a laptop, you could have all your stuff plugged into a USB hub, come home and plug it into your PPC and WHAMO! you have a fully functional piece of equipment.  I do this with my laptop, plug in the USB hub and I have a keyboard, mouse, printer.  Though, usually, I just connect to the printer through the LAN.  But still...

i was thinking maybe that new windows xp tablet might be a good idea. you can turn it into a laptop too or a desktop pc. i'd get one if it had a software keyboard like the ppc. when are they coming out or is it already here?

Nothing yet bro.  I am waiting patiently too.  I see the WebPad as being the next StarTrek step.  Carry it around, write on it like paper.  I really want one.

that new display tech that looks like paper sounds good as well. flexible like wallpaper. then theres the electronic paper which is actually a form of paper with magnetic bits in it which can switch on and off to give the effect of a display - with touchscreen ability.

What about Power Drain? I mean, you can have your silly hub with your printer, keyboard, mouse etc...... But how long will your little PPC battery last? I'm going with the IPAQ. People complain about the Expansion system and everything, but If they fix everything the way they say they did, then it is a superior system and the best around. And can a Casio run two PCMCIA slots?

no, but a Casio can run a CF and an SD at the same time, w/o a bulky sleeve ;)  I got of all my silly pcmcia stuff long ago and just use all CF cards now (with a cf-pcmcia adapter for my laptop of course).  and i believe Ricoder was referring to that setup as you're home computer, when it is plugged in; as many geeks do with their laptops now :) so battery power isnt an issue when it is plugged in.  and even when it running on battery power, the usb hub is through an expansion slot which has an extra battery onboard it, which is comparable, if not better than the extra battery on the dual (or single) pc-card slot for the ipaq.
