computer freezes

The processor is irrelevant. If it works otherwise, then something else is causing the crash. I'd say that your codecs might not be installed properly, or your VDub is corrupted. Try downloading from another place.

I had the same problem. I was running Win98 and that was the reason. I hooked up my other HD with Win2k Pro installed and VDub hasn't crashed since.

Thanks, I tried installing a new version of the codec, and downloading another version of virtual dub, but same problem.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
still freezes, only .avi files
