Streaming audio on Pocket PC

I am trying to stream a 6kbps audio file - .wma or .asf, it doesn't seem to make much difference, to a Pocket PC with a v7.1 player installed. The
result is that garbled text is displayed, or if a .asx link is used, part of the text of the .asx is displayed.

The file streams OK when accessed via IE5.5/Desktop - with or without the .asx, and either asf or wma - so the server is not suspect(?).

Files DO stream to the Pocket PC from windowsmedia.com site - albeit intermittently - 12k into 9.6k doesn't go - so is it the .asx that is incorrect? According to the spec. WMP7.1 for Pocket PC supports the wma format. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good old question. I don't know the answer. Haha.
I do know that WMP does play WMA's as I've re-encoded all of my mp3s on my PPC into 64kbps WMA's.
