No, I've been through nearly 5 replacements (dust issue with the jornadas), and through best buy's plan, they've ALWAYS paid me the difference. It might be different for other plans, but I'm telling you from experience, that IS how the best buy warranty's work.

Thanks for the input. I am indeed on vacation and upon my return to the US I will investigate further. However it seems the CompUSA plan sounds like the best bet.

Cameron, your on drugs. I was a service tech at Best Buy. Older plans worked that way, but they havent for a few years. If you really want to continue this argument I can pick up a plan next time im there, scan it and show you.
