256MB Compact Flash

I've been noticing some good deals on 256 CF Cards (eg $119 @ www.cititronics.com).<br>I wondered how good the quality of a divx/mpeg1 or wmv movie (approx 90 minutes long) is for that sort of size? Is it genuinely watchable or just something that people do because they can?<br>Also, what is battery consumption like for a full 90 minute movie playing through headphones?<br>Thanks.

umm... you could fit a 90minute portrait-oriented mpeg1 video in that... or a full screen divx movie in that...<br><br>for battery consumption.. for an ipaq 3650 you should get around 3-4 hours with headphones on low backlight... maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more...

oh yeah, i forgot to mention, I have an E125 overclocked to 180Mhz.<br>So will the quality be any good on the DivX?

Awesome. what kinda file sizes are u lookin at relative to the mpegs for a ppc fit movie?

After what I've understood you can fit a 2 hr fullscreen DivX for PPC in less than 128Mb and at good quality

Hmm Whatever u do don't click Full Screen option for the DivX or you'll Hard Reset your device (at least my @migo did it twice.) I thank the Lord i had a backup from just a few days ago and an uptodate Outlook sync.

did that on my @migo, no hard reset, all that happened was I watched a full screen divx. My @migo is so much more boring than yours:(

That is true. Why do I have these problems. Anyway, i've had to restore my backup 7 times this weekend. So, i've found that I can run PocketDivX now without any hangups. However, even if i exit it properly and things look cool...i can push the reset button and i'm back to hard reset mode again. <br>So i just don't reset it now. heh. and i back it up a lot so when i want to i can restore.<br><br>i really like this DivX player now. i was able to make a fullscreen decent framerate/quality music video of Incubus' Stellar in a file size smaller than the original mp3. Can't beat that.<br>
