Active Sync and the Internet?

Ive read somewhere that it is possible to go on the internet by syncing my PPC with my computer, using the cradle.

Is this possible and how would I go about to doing it. Are there settings that I have to set in my PPC and my computer.

I think thats the thing which allows internet access.
