Two bad ppc = one good; how hard is the screen or mb swap?

I have a toshiba e310 with a broken screen(good mother board) and a e330 with a bad mother board (good screen). I am wanting to swap the screen or motherboard to make at least a halfway decent working pocket pc (w/ the e310 mb), instead of two broken. I have the two of them apart right now and it looks like it is going to be pretty tough. I really don't want to break anything! I'm especially worried about the ribbon cables for the screen. They seem to be glued in or they are too tight to safely release. I have swapped the batteries with the two to ensure that it was a power supply/ mother board problem already. So, how risky is it to mess with that stuff? Is it possible, or should I just not even bother trying? Any tips, experiences, or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I forgot to mention. I do have some training with soldering (sp?) So if it is at all necessary, I can handle it.

It's probably well above most people's skill levels. Practice on the bad one if you really want to go through with this still.

Can you take a picture of both LCD screens?

I suggest just selling both as scrap and buying a new ppc.

Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera around to take a picture of the screens, but I can tell you that the screen and digitizer are both damaged on the e310. caesar54, how much do you think the two of them will go for? If I can't get much for the both of them I would rather take my chances with fixing up one of them.

You know, what really sucks is that I just got, or should I say, that my brother just bought the e330 (his first) a few weeks ago, and for some damn reason or another it just didn't power up one day...he bought it used for $40. He didn't lose much, but still. I had broken my own e310 a few months prior, so I just so happened to have parts to at least try to fix him up with a replacement.

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to get the wide ribbon cable unloose from the mother board? I just can't seem to do it. I have almost totally damaged the cable just trying ( this is the one that is already bad...I'm practicing!)
