Asus A620 Battery Replacement cost ** IMPORTANT

Hey Everyone:

Just wanted to let you know that I've been meaning to get this on the boards...... for all of you worried about out of warranty replacement costs if your A620 battery goes dead....

This is a confirmation of price:

Asus will replace your battery for $30. That is the cost of labor and the battery itself ---- this is only for out of warranty issues. The way they usually work shipping is, you pay one way how ever you want to ship it and they overnight it back to you..... on an issue like this, it's usually the same day turn around time.

thought the a620 owners would like to know this, as well as those buyers looking for a ppc and have doubts about a non replaceable battery.

--- Just for a little insight -- the battery is the way it is so that more battery can fit in the same space.... a user replacable battery has a casing and that adds weight .... asus just decided to take up the same space with more battery.

Sincerely,
Justin O'Dea

thanks this makes me feel even better about my purchase i just got it today =) and I am about to test it out with emulators and movies. Also is there any kind of external battery pack that can bought from asus or a third-party that can plug into the ac adapter and recharge? I know up at where I work we sell disposable expandable cell phone batteries that work that way but of course I would want this rechargeable aswell.
