On the A620 speaker problem, I had it too and solved with a firmware update. Basically, you dowload the newest firmware, put it on the CF and do a hard reset, and it updates to the latest version.
The problem here is that lately Asus stopped allowing access to its Ftp that had those updates, I haven't checked recently though, so if you get the speaker problem you may be in trouble. Best thing is to ask the seller about it, Justin of proportable is very helpful, he would know ;)
About the A716, I changed it too my A620 for it and really it's great, mostly because it has all the features you could ever need in connectivity, SD card, the speed of the A620, an internal battery that will not drain your internal battery even when you're not using it, plus removable battery.
