I was reading about a program called J-Desktop

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProduct ... tId=118522
it allows a user to remotely control their pc and I was wonder if you can do that couldn't you make your pc display an un-emulatable game on the ppc with controls such as n64 games at playable rates?...Does anyone know at what framerates this program operates at?.....I knew I should have waited for the a716 with wi-fi and bluetooth......
Here is a concept remotely control your pc by ppc through office or school computer through ip address and it would be like ppc<remote<remote

Usually these types of applications are very very slow and a game would not be playable. Screen is delayed quite a bit and so is input.

Agreed. Just do the math, although at 320x240 it's almost managable IIRC. But then it begs the question, if your within WiFi range, why wouldn't you use your PPC? Over the net it'd be pointless due to the lag, if you even have the upstream available.

There's also PTvnc 2 for only $10. Anyone willing to try this out and tell us if this is any faster? I'll probably try it out later.

Interesting, it says it encodes it, wonde rif that means compression, and how much faster it'll be.

If it can pump out 30 JPGs a second at around 15K a piece, that's just 450KB a second, or around 7.5MBPS. 802.11b doesn't get near that in the real world.
