Hey Everyone... just want to fill everyone in on the latest Asus offerings

1. WM2003SE update - We're looking at something happening with this by the end of the month. They are still tweaking the drivers. I'll let everyone know ASAP. ALL a716 owners will get the update. Nothing has been said about any other device... still.

2. a730BT - still expected on or a little after July 13th.

3. p505 pocket pc phone - Everyone's seen it at this point... the updated design of the long awaited, but never appearing a8100. We're going to have these around the begining of September... offering data and voice services from AT&T... Price should be atleast $600..... if we do a voice and data sign up, we may be able to do the same sort of rebates that ATT offers! However the p505 probably is probably only going to be offered by Asus' pocket pc dealers.... maybe even just PROPortable if we play our cards right.

4. Keyboard for a716 - We'll FINALLY have these at the end of June... supposedly. I know tons of you want them, and I also know this was supposed to be available when the a716 came out..... it'll be worth the wait.

Looking forward to the p505, especially with the attractive price.

However, I currently have AT&T for my wireless service, and (after having been with Verizon [still the best], Alltel, and T-mobile) I can say without a doubt that it is by far the worst wireless service for data and/or voice available.

Since it's a GSM/GPRS phone, is there any chance of T-mobile carrying these phones?

Jay - Carrying the phones... not that I have heard..... ability to use them... yes.

Tmobile here in the states is only GSM I think.. it's data service is slow..... But all you have to do is throw in your SIM card.

AT&T's data service is fast for most of the country... their new GPRS is about 300kb/s and the EDGE network is faster than that in my experience on the east coast of the US.

However AT&T has always had so so customer service.. I think that is public record.

I will admit that the data services are quite fast.. if you can get a signal that is :/

Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen by September and ATT's signal on the west coast will actually be good.

I'm buying a P505 either way, dammit. :)
