is there mapping software for pocket pc that can give me directions without the need of a gps? Pocket Streets doesn't do it, it can only find an address not show me how to get there.

If you already have a pocketpc, GPS is just 150-200 dollars away. It isn't practical for everyone, but I know in my case I would literally be lost without it. I have had excellent luck with both the Serial GPS Mouse and the Bluetooth GPS Mouse from ProPortable.

Mapopolis will work with/without a GPS.

You can buy single maps if you don't want to spend much.
